What are the requirement / approval required for builing a home on agricultural land?

Dear Sir
This Alex from Muscat
i have 600 sq.ft land in bangalore-peenia
Before 1 and half year I purchased that one. But that is an agricultural land. Now i want to build a home there. So i have so many doubts about that land.
For above purpose, what are the requirement / approval required for building a home in that land.
Pls give me all necessary legal points

You could have purchased a ‘revenue site’, which these days are banned from registration. However you could get it regularized under the new Sakrama Scheme floated by the Corporation if you come within the BBMP are (the details of which will be known in December 2008). After this you will have no difficulty in getting the plan sanctioned to build a house. Otherwise you will not have a good and marketable title, although you can still build a house using your own funds. Banks may not fund you.Vatsala
